Call for applications – International Human Rights Advocacy Competition

The PADCS project in Mauritania (AFD financing) is co-financing the organization by the International Institute for Human Rights and Peace of the 6th edition of the Mauritania International Human Rights Advocacy Competition. It will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in Nouakchott. The selected lawyers will have to demonstrate, through legal reasoning, that human rights violations have no place in a state governed by the rule of law. Through the Competition, it is the defenders of rights and their fundamental role in ensuring respect for the dignity and freedom of each individual that are highlighted.

The pleadings may be held in French or Arabic, depending on the candidate’s choice. At the end of the selection process, eight candidates will be selected to participate (4 French-speaking and 4 Arabic-speaking).

Travel and accommodation expenses are covered by the Institute and candidates invited to travel from 2 to 8 December 2018.
