ECJIN: first study visit in Paris, Nanterre and Luxembourg
From 16 to 18 October 2019, the European inspection team gathered for its first study visit in France and Luxembourg, at the Ministry of Justice, at the civil, commercial and labor courts in Nanterre, and at the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).
The study visit enabled the team to meet with the central authority in charge of judicial cooperation in civil matters (Direction des affaires civiles et du Sceau), with judges and law clerks, as well as with the terminology and comparative law units of the CJEU.
These collaborative meetings led to the collection of qualitative and quantitative data on the implementation of European regulations in the field of judicial cooperation in civil matters, as well as to the development of a common evaluation framework, transferrable to the various legal systems of EU Member States.
From 2nd to 4th December this year, the team will travel to Rome for the second study visit.
