Lauch of conference of the institutionnal Twinning with the ISM
On Wednesday 31 January, the launching ceremony of the twinning contract for support for the institutional reform and capacity building of the Superior Institute of Judiciary, financed by the European Union and implemented by JCI, FIIAPP and IFJ, was held at the Institut Supérieur de la Magistrature (ISM) in Rabat.
The Moroccan Minister of Justice, Mr Mohamed AUJAR, H. E. Mr Jean-François Girault, Head of the European Union Delegation to Morocco, Mrs Claudia Wiedey, H. E. Mr Jean-François Girault, Ambassador of France to Morocco and H. E. Mr Jean-François Girault, Ambassador of Belgium to Morocco Mr. Marc Trenteseau, H. E. the Spanish Ambassador to Morocco, Mr. Ricardo Diez-Hochleitner Rodriguez and the directors general of the judicial training institutes in these three countries (Mr. Olivier Leurent, Mr. Raf Van Ransbeeck, Ms. María Gema Espinosa Conde) were present for the launch.
JCI was represented by Mr Axel Gamet, Deputy Director of Project Monitoring, who, with his experience in managing twinning projects, spoke on the relevance and effectiveness of this cooperation instrument.
The project component leaders presented the activities and expected results of each component.
Following this event, the first steering committee of the project took place the following day, Thursday 1st February at ISM. As project director, the Director General of the ISM, Mr. Abdelmjid Rhomija, chaired the meeting in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the High Council of the Judiciary, the Presidency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, CAP-RSA and the Delegation of the European Union, project leaders from the Member States, the RTAs and heads of components.
The RTA presented the first three months of twinning activities (governance audit, study visit to France to ENM and ENG) and the discussions then focused on the progress made and the strategy to be adopted for the next missions.
