Launch of the intra-European project ECJIN – Evaluation of European Instruments of judicial cooperation in civil matters by national inspection authorities
July 1st 2019, the High Council of Justice of Belgium welcomed the justice inspection authorities of France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Romania, for the launch of the ECJIN project (Evaluation of European instruments of judicial cooperation in civil matters by national inspection authorities).
The kick-off seminar gathered the European team of justice inspectors with representatives of the European Commission, to exchange on the lack of national data available in the area of judicial cooperation, as well as to ensure an efficient implementation of the work programme for the next two years.
The project aims at strengthening mutual trust between the courts of the Member States, developing a common method of evaluation, and drafting guidelines to support the work of national authorities and European institutions in the area of judicial cooperation.
The ECJIN project is financed by the Justice programme of the European Union and constitutes the first action of cooperation in the framework of the European network of justice inspection authorities (RESIJ).
