JCI is pleased to announce the publication of the first issue of the journal “Cahiers de JCI”, which will be published at the end of each year. Through this publication, JCI wishes to help raise awareness of the reality of judicial cooperation activities, whether bilateral or multilateral.
Thus, in this first edition, the Bar President Paul Albert IWEINS, representatives of the National Chamber of Judicial Officers, as well as magistrates John Mac KEE, Bernard LEGRAS and Marc BRISSET FOUCAUT (all JCI experts in the field) were invited to look at international judicial cooperation. Through a specific topic and geographic area, each author demonstrates the actions he takes/has taken in projects, some led directly by JCI.
The purpose of this first issue is to present projects that have been the opportunity to “export” otherwise our judicial professions as such, at least elements structuring their status and functioning, to requesting countries. Through this, JCI intends to show the importance of maintaining the presence of French legal and judicial culture where it is desired. It is not only a question of providing useful insights for the improvement of the system of the beneficiary country, but also of enriching ours, for the progress of technical cooperation and mutual assistance international.
