Strengthening Juvenile Justice Systems in the counter-terrorism context

Objectifs

To identify, promote and improve the responses of juvenile justice systems to acts of terrorism and extreme violence committed by minors and to evaluate practices with regard to their effectiveness in the fight against the radicalisation of minors. For that :

  • – Analysing the legislative frameworks and responses of national police forces in handling minors suspected of radical and extremist violence,
  • – Examining new effective practices that respect the rights of minors,
  • – Creation of an online database (the Online Community of Practice), containing sources of information for the member countries: guides covering proceedings, criminal law, etc.
  • – Dissemination of results and deliverables
