Restitution Meeting: Balkans

Publé le 2 May 2018

Between October 2017 and March 2018, French prosecutors carried out “full-immersion” missions in prosecutors’ offices in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania and Serbia.

The objective of these missions was to provide practical support to prosecutors in the three Balkan countries, with the aim of providing technical support on the ground by French Prosecutors deployed on mid-term missions in the different target countries. Throughout the missions, an analysis of the actual functioning of these Prosecution Offices, weaknesses, needs and priorities for the development of future cooperation have been identified.

The results of these actions were presented on 17 April in Sarajevo at the Restitution Meeting entitled “Balkans – another approach to international cooperation in the Justice sector?”.

The event gathered the Ambassador of France in Bosnia and Herzegovina,  S.E Guillaune Rousson; the President of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milan Tegeltija; the Honorary Prosecutor General Bernard Legras, deployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania, and the Honorary Advocate General Marc Brisset-Foucault, deployed in Serbia, and presented their proposals for improving the work of the judiciary.

This conference was organized and financed by JCI, in cooperation with the French Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
