10 members of the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council came to Paris from 10 to 14th September. Fruitful exchanges took place with different departments of the French Ministry of Justice (Directorate for Judicial Services, Directorate for Criminal Affairs, General Inspectorate of Justice), the French High Judicial Council, the Court of Cassation, the Court of Appeal of Paris and the National School of the Judiciary.
The visit is part of the Twinning project “Strengthening efficiency, accountability and transparency of the judicial and prosecutorial system”.
This twinning project, funded by the European Union and led by the Italian High Judicial Council in partnership with JCI, aims to improve the implementation of reforms rin the judiciary and prosecutor’s offices, as well as to enhance the effectiveness of the Judicial (KJC) and Prosecutorial (KPC) councils and the Kosovo Special Prosecution (SPRK). The project started operations in October 2016 for an overall duration of 31 months and has a budget of EUR 3 million.
Several study visits have already been organised within the framework of the twinning, for the benefit of the Kosovar partners, including 2 in France: in April 2017 for a delegation from the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC) and in May 2018 for the administrative staff of the High Council of Prosecutors.
